What Families Are Saying: Early Insights from Our Vancouver Pilot

October 20, 2026

As we continue to grow the CompanionCare Connect Vancouver Pilot, we’ve taken time to listen closely to the families who have been using our service. Their honest feedback is helping us understand what’s working well and where we can improve.

After three months of operation, several clear themes have emerged from family responses.

Positive Feedback from Families

The majority of families have shared encouraging experiences. Many report noticeable improvements in their loved one’s daily life, particularly in mood and social engagement.

Common highlights include:

  • Increased sense of connection — Many seniors look forward to their companion’s visits and appear happier and more animated afterward.
  • Reliable and professional companions — Families frequently praise the quality and trustworthiness of the companions matched through our platform.
  • Valuable light support — Appointment accompaniment and technology tutoring have been especially popular, helping seniors attend medical visits with less anxiety and stay better connected with distant family members.
  • Peace of mind for families — Adult children and caregivers appreciate knowing their loved one has regular, safe companionship without crossing into medical care.

One family member shared:

“My mom was becoming quite withdrawn. Since starting with her companion, she’s laughing more and even initiated a video call with her grandchildren last week. It’s been a game changer.”

Areas We’re Focusing On

While feedback has been largely positive, we’ve also received constructive input:

  • Some families want even more flexible scheduling options
  • A few requested stronger personality matching in the first attempt
  • There is growing demand for weekend availability

We are actively using this feedback to refine our matching algorithm and expand companion availability.

Our Commitment Moving Forward

These early insights reinforce our belief that non-medical companionship fills an important gap in senior care. By staying strictly within companionship and light social support, we can offer a simple, affordable, and trustworthy service that families feel confident using.

The Vancouver pilot continues to provide us with valuable real-world data. We’re grateful to every family that has trusted us during this initial phase. Your experiences are shaping the future of CompanionCare Connect.

We remain committed to growing thoughtfully — always prioritizing quality matches, clear boundaries, and genuine human connection.

If you’re in the Vancouver area and considering non-medical companionship, we invite you to learn more about our pilot program. Whether you’re a family looking for support or someone interested in becoming a companion, we’d love to hear from you.
